Bookkeeper – Growing, Friendly Accountancy PracticeSeaford, East SussexFull time, permanent (will consider 4 days a week)Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pmSalary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum, depending on experienceAbout the roleThis is an excellent opportunity for a Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant to join a small, supportive accountancy practice where everyone works closely as a team. The role is varied and hands-on, ideal for someone who enjoys moving between different clients and tasks throughout the day and wants to build on their experience in practice.Key responsibilities include:
* Day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable
* Reconciling bank accounts and credit card statements
* Maintaining accurate financial records across various accounting software packages
* Assisting clients over the telephone with bookkeeping queries
* Working closely with the wider accounts, payroll and admin teams
What we are looking forThe ideal candidate will have gained experience of working in an accountancy firm but candidates from industry who can demonstrate a flexible approach, a strong work ethic and a proactive, “can-do” attitude will also be considered. Essential skills and experience:
* Studying towards or completed AAT
* Strong understanding of Xero
* Knowledge of other systems such as QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Sage and Client Engager is highly desirable
* Solid understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Confident communicator who enjoys working as part of a small, friendly team
