Overview
As a Theatre Scrub Nurse, you will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary theatre team providing a high standard of nursing care and safety for patients within the theatre unit. You will contribute to maintaining an environment conducive to the delivery and promotion of high standards of patient care. The post holder will adhere to professional and national standards and work in a patient-focused way, delivering a service that is safe, effective and efficient. This role seeks staff trained in plastics, general, orthopaedics and gynaecological surgery.
Main duties
* Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you will be part of a scrub team working closely with anaesthetic and recovery colleagues.
Key Performance Indicators
* Patient satisfaction.
* Clinical quality indicators (such as infection rates).
* Tight maintenance of par stock levels to minimise stock wastage.
* Ensure the achievement of 100% revenue capture.

Kinvara Private Hospital is a modern, boutique private hospital in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The hospital serves the population of South Yorkshire and beyond, and is easily accessed via train, M1 and M18. Free parking is provided. Facilities include 21 inpatient beds, disabled-friendly rooms, 2 laminar flow operating theatres and 3 consultation rooms. We specialise in orthopaedics, cosmetic surgery, and women's health, and undertake general surgery. We are seeking full-time theatre scrub nurses.
Job Details
* Pay: £30,000 to £35,000 per year
* Contract: Permanent

Job Responsibilities
* Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating peri-operative patient care.
* Prepare patients for clinical/operative procedures.
* Provide assistance in clinical/operative procedures and provide initial emergency care as required.
* Work with the multi-disciplinary Theatre team following local protocols and standards.
* Maintain patient comfort, dignity and privacy at all times.
* Assemble, check and prepare surgical instruments and consumables for a wide range of procedures; report faults to the Theatre Manager.
* Coordinate use of supplies and equipment during the operating list; ensure safe usage.
* Monitor and check stock items including consumables, equipment and drugs.
* Promote and maintain infection prevention and control for staff, patients and visitors.
* Document accidents or complaints and inform the appropriate manager.
* Maintain safe custody and handling of drugs in accordance with hospital policy; participate in education, training and development of staff.
* Contribute to changes in practice and policies following audits, complaints or new guidance.
* Adhere to Kinvara Private Hospital policies and procedures.
