Hiring: Operational Technology (OT) Engineers / Architects / SMEs Location: Edinburgh – Home based with occasional office days
Duration: Initial 9 months (part of a 2–5 year programme)
Contract Type: Inside IR35 (FTE or Umbrellapany only – no PSC)
Your new role
We are seeking experienced Operational Technology (OT) Engineers, Architects, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to play a pivotal role in enhancing and safeguarding business-critical operational applications.This is a high-impact opportunity to work across Platinum, Gold, and Silver level OT Applications in collaboration with SSE IT, Neos Networks, and key suppliers.
What you'll need to succeed
1. OT Application Performance ImprovementDrive continual performance enhancement of operational applications.Develop a Strategic Asset Management Plan for OT applications and infrastructure.
2. Design Authority for OT InfrastructureAuthorise and oversee developments in OT infrastructure.Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to test and approve architectural changes.
3. Operational Application UpgradesLead Operational Acceptance Testing and approve handover into support.Make critical go/no-go decisions for upgrades.
4. Team DevelopmentMentor and upskill RTS Technical Engineers to deliver robust support and project services.
5. Technical ExpertiseMaintain and set standards for OT applications such as PowerOn, PI, and ODMS.Contribute to technical forums, documentation, and standards development.
6. Fault AnalysisInvestigate and resolveplex operational application issues.Ensure SLApliance with internal and external service providers.
