Bookkeeper
* Annual Salary: Up to £35,000 (dependent on experience)
* Location: Bethersden, Kent
* Job Type: Permanent and full time
* Working Arrangements: Office based
We are seeking an AAT qualified / Qualified by experience Bookkeeper to join a family owned business in Bethersden, Kent. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (or be qualified by experience) and will be adept in managing all aspects of limited company accounts, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Process and check sales invoices against purchase orders, enter data into Sage, and file hard copies.
* Manage supplier invoice payments, track bank account balances, and reconcile bank statements.
* Complete VAT returns, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
* Understand and apply VAT and CIS regulations effectively.
* Prepare and process payroll while maintaining accurate employee records.
* Generate monthly financial statements, including profit & loss and balance sheets, and present accounts with project costings to the management team.
* Prepare annual limited company accounts for handover to accountants.
* Maintain excellent knowledge of Sage and demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in financial management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* AAT qualification with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience or qualified by experience.
* Proficiency in Sage accounting software.
* Strong understanding of VAT and CIS regulations.
* Experience in preparing financial statements and completing VAT returns.
* Skilled in payroll processing and maintaining employee records.
* Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial management.
