We are seeking to recruit a fixed-term, full-time Supported Employment Job Coach to support young people with disabilities into education, training, or employment. You will be part of the Business Growth and Inclusion team, responsible for managing employability delivery across the city. The team supports individuals at risk of leaving school without a positive destination, as well as those facing barriers such as disabilities or health conditions, through contracts and grants to third-sector organizations for employability services.
The Job Coach will be involved in delivering the Edinburgh Project SEARCH programme, including recruiting and supporting young people with disabilities or health conditions, facilitating supported training and work placements, and helping them gain skills and qualifications for future employment.
You will also develop work placements within council departments, other public, private, and third-sector organizations, aiming to progress young people into paid employment.
The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational skills, experience supporting individuals with disabilities or health conditions, an understanding of the challenges faced by young people with barriers to employment, and awareness of the current economic climate's impact on the city.

This role is considered regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check. If you have spent three or more consecutive months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory clearance of these checks.

Our salary range reflects the starting salary, with annual increases until the top of the range is reached.
