Experienced Administrator Opportunity

Thomson Cooper is an independent firm of Accountants and Business Advisors operating across Central Scotland with offices in Edinburgh and Dunfermline We have grown from our small beginnings to now having 8 partners and over 100 staff. In recent years our client portfolio has grown significantly offering all accountancy services from tax advice to debt solutions, for a variety of clients in various sectors.

THE ROLE
The role will involve assisting mangers to administer a portfolio of mainly corporate and potentially some personal insolvency cases with responsibility for your own portfolio of smaller cases. Typical duties will include:
1. Assets – realisation of book debts, property, cash at bank etc.
2. Creditors – dealing with creditor claims and queries.
3. Banks – liaising with the banks to obtain bank balances and bank statements.
4. Employees – assisting in preparing initial employee’s letters, ascertaining employee claims, liaising with employees and the RPS and various pension schemes.
5. HMRC – submitting various returns as necessary.
6. Telephone enquiries – responding to stakeholder queries.
7. General duties to assist in the insolvency team.
ABOUT YOU
Ideally you will have at least 2 to 3 years experience of working within an insolvency team
8. Strong organisational and administration skills
9. Commitment to deliver first class service to clients and colleagues alike
10. Ability to work on own initiative to meet tight deadlines
11. Good IT skills, including software such as MS Office, document management systems and IPS – Cloud (is desirable but not essential – training will be provided.)
12. Strong communication skills both oral and written.
13. Adaptable, with the ability to prioritise workload
