My client, a market leading manufacturer has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically minded Electrical Design Engineer to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experience Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established team.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Interpret/develop client’s standards and technical specifications to enable the sales team to offer the best solutions to the customer.
2. Ensure the design output complies with client’s specifications.
3. Complete datasheets for electrical/instrumentation devices/equipment.
4. Review and approval of sub-vendor/sub-suppliers’ technical quotations (tender package) and evaluate it against projects requirements and clients’ specifications.
5. Production of design drawings using Solid works 3D CAD software. These range from systems design, control panel design, wiring harness design. Installation drawings, including schematics, panel arrangements, parts lists, wiring diagrams and cable schedules. Working to British (BS), European (EN), International (ISO) and Classification Society standards.
6. Generate project documentation including design calculations, test specifications and procurement information.
7. Maintain project records in accordance with internal QA procedures and ISO 9001.
8. Verification of other colleagues works.
9. Liaising with third party contractors and assessing third party contractors output
10. Support other in house departments including project management, mechanical engineering, procurement, and sales.
11. Liaise with customers’ engineering representatives.
12. The key accountabilities for the Electrical Design Engineer are: professional engineering documentation; performance to project budgets and milestones; completion & acceptance of work to client satisfaction and to relevant approvals.
Required Skills & Experience
13. Knowledge of 2D/3D AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (including word, excel, outlook)
14. Knowledge of different LV Voltage Levels / Power Supplies (3-Phase and Single Phase)
15. Able to read and understand electrical schematic diagrams and electrical circuits’ control philosophies.
16. Able to recognise major devices and their functions in the schematic diagrams including fuses/circuit breakers, contactors, switches etc…
17. Ability to work cross-functionally to solve business problems
18. Experience working on complex electrical installations very desirable.
