As a Care Assistant, you will provide the best possible care and support (physically and emotionally) to our residents on a daily/nightly basis. Your responsibilities will include personal care, getting ready for the day/night ahead, assisting with meals (food and nutrition) and providing day-to-day social interaction which is as important as each resident’s physical wellbeing. Being a Care Assistant is a busy role where our residents’ needs will be your top priority.
* Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements relevant to Health & Safety, COSHH, Health & Social Care Act, and maintain a safe environment throughout the home. Demonstrate awareness of Infection Control.
* Be alert to residents’ physical and mental wellbeing; report changes in a resident’s condition to a senior person on duty and accurately maintain/update residents’ records as required.
* Respect and maintain confidentiality of residents’ personal information, including behaviour, actions, and any incidents arising during day-to-day care.
* Be understanding and patient towards residents; encourage, assist and support participation in leisure activities appropriate to the individual; escort residents to appointments and leisure outings when needed.
* Make and change beds, tidy residents’ rooms (with the resident’s permission), undertake light cleaning duties as needed, and help keep the home clean, pleasant and welcoming.
* Be an active and supportive member of the care team; contribute to team meetings, maintain good communication, and support new team members to ensure a friendly working environment.
* Undertake other tasks as deemed appropriate by the General Manager.
You will be expected to work on a permanent rolling rota of three consecutive shifts on, followed by three consecutive shifts off, with the following shift option:
* Part Time Days: 14:30-22:00, totaling an average of 26.25 hours per week.
Hourly rate of pay: £13.25 (Days)
