We are now looking for a Recovery Motivator to join our Hastings service—an opportunity designed to support individuals with lived experience to take their first steps into employment while making a real difference in their community. About the role This is a role built on connection and shared understanding. As a Recovery Motivator, you will be a welcoming and consistent presence within the service, supporting individuals affected by drug and/or alcohol use, as well as their families, carers, and wider support networks. You will: Act as a trusted and approachable point of contact within the service Support individuals to access the right services and support across East Sussex Work alongside staff and partners to strengthen community engagement Promote and support service user involvement and peer-led activities Help plan and facilitate recovery and wellbeing groups Contribute to a culture that is inclusive, supportive, and recovery-focused This role is about using your experience to help others feel understood, supported, and able to move forward. Location & contract Where: Hastings Hours: 15 hours per week Contract: Fixed Term until 31 March 2027 Salary: Subject to review in line with the 2025/26 pay award Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. About you You don’t need to have done this role before—what matters is your motivation and lived experience. You will be: Passionate about recovery and supporting others Compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental A confident communicator and able to build positive relationships Enthusiastic about community engagement and peer support Able to work flexibly and use your own initiative Lived experience of drug and/or alcohol use—either personally or through supporting others—is welcomed and valued in this role.
