Embedded Software Engineer (Interfaces)
Location: High Wycombe / Hybrid. Term: Permanent, Full time. Salary: Dependent on experience + excellent benefits.
We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join an innovative team creating audio products for live music performance, studio recording and education.
Responsibilities
On a day‑to‑day basis, you will be responsible for developing high quality embedded software in our audio interfaces. You will be involved in the whole product lifecycle—refining product specifications, producing innovative designs, generating complexity/work estimates, fixing issues and engaging with a multi‑discipline team (Hardware, QA, Product). Project work is typically managed in a combination of stage‑gated and agile methodologies to suit the technical discipline and project complexity. Ideal Candidate
* Competent coding skills in C/C++
* Understanding of embedded firmware architecture and ability to balance technical trade‑offs
* Commitment to continual personal improvement, as well as improvement of the wider team
* Excellent design, debugging and problem‑solving abilities
* Ability to clearly articulate problems and solutions for both technical and non‑technical audiences
* Experience guiding, mentoring and developing others
Advantageous Qualifications
* Familiarity with real‑time operating systems (FreeRTOS/Zephyr)
* Knowledge of a scripting language, ideally Python
* Familiarity with wireless communications technology (e.g., Bluetooth, WiFi)
* Technical or engineering degree and/or 3+ years of industry experience in embedded software development projects
* Experience reading schematics and hardware interfaces (SPI, UART, I2C)
* Experience using AI to aid development
* Test‑driven development experience (unit, integration, automated and system testing)
