The SPTS division of KLA designs, manufactures and markets wafer processing solutions for the global semiconductor and related industries. SPTS provides industry leading etch and deposition process technologies on a range of single wafer handling platforms. End-market applications include MEMS, advanced packaging, LED, high speed RF device ICs and power semiconductors. Group/Division
SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.
Job Description / Preferred Qualifications
Part of the SPTS Engineering division, the Equipment Engineering and Development Group is a multi-disciplined team providing automation solutions to enable the integration of SPTS process systems into customer semiconductor fabrication factories worldwide.
As the successful candidate, you will be an experienced/proven Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer with a detailed understanding of all aspects of electrical and electronic design. You will work with other specialists in the group with equipment design/integration and are expected to meet tight deadlines in a highly regulated industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Electrical / electronic control and interface design
* Electrical assembly design
* Design of electrical enclosures using Solid Edge
* Wiring harness design
* AC/DC power distribution circuit design
* Analogue and digital circuit design
* RF circuit design
* Fault finding / problem solving
* Designing critical safety circuits to comply with EN13849
* Technical report writing
* Producing engineering drawings, build and test guides
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
* Proven experience in an electrical/electronic design role
* Strong understanding of machinery safety regulations and EU harmonized standards (EN60204, EN13849) essential
* Understanding of UL/NFPA regulations
* Design of safety circuits
* AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent experience
* 3D CAD experience is desired

* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to mentor junior engineers
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
