Overview
We are looking for highly motivated Therapy Assistant Practitioners to join our newly formed Frailty Unit in NHS Borders.
Responsibilities
* Work alongside occupational therapists, physiotherapists and wider MDT in the Frailty Unit, Emergency Department and MAU to support prevention of admission and ensure timely, safe and appropriate discharge.
* Assess and formulate an intervention plan to prevent hospital admission or facilitate safe discharge under guidance from a qualified AHP.
* Support patients independently within protocols, undertaking some administrative duties to help the effective running of the team.
Qualifications
* Therapy Assistant Practitioner qualification (or equivalent).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently with patient within protocols and guidance from qualified AHP.
