Job Advert International Trade and Customs Advisor Location: Slough Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week Salary: £45,000 plus commission Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce are looking for an experienced Trade and Customs Advisor to join their International Trade Team. Reporting to the Head of International Trade and Compliance you will be providing bespoke trade related advisory services on such matters as customs audits, origin rules and custom special procedure applications. You will also be pro-actively managing the Chamber’s current global membership, ensuring their retention by ascertaining their challenges and aspirations. You will also be actively involved in growing the Chamber’s membership through the delivery of structured events and trade training programmes, maintaining current partnerships and providing support with new partnership opportunities. You will need to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in trade and customs compliance from an international freight forwarding, trade consulting or customs brokerage, as well as proven regional (ideally the Middle East, South-East Asia or India) import/export and supply chain expertise. Experience as an Account Manager would also be helpful. You will need to be commercially minded, so that you are able to provide real world solutions to our members and be familiar with CRM’s, customs declaration and financial systems. You will be a confident, friendly person, with excellent interpersonal skills and an eye for detail. You will be a highly organised individual, who can keep calm under pressure and be a positive team player. You will need to be a confident public speaker and be comfortable acting as ‘a face’ of the Chamber at events.
