Reignite Your Passion for Teaching – Maths Tutors Needed in Gateshead
If you're a fully qualified Maths teacher looking to move away from traditional classroom constraints and make a more personal impact, this could be the opportunity for you.
At TP-Tutors, we believe teaching should be purposeful, flexible, and fulfilling. We are seeking dedicated Maths specialists to provide 1:1 tuition to looked-after children in Gateshead who are currently not attending school.
These young people need more than subject expertise—they require a steady, encouraging presence to rebuild confidence and re-engage with learning.
Why This Role Matters:
You will support students in care who, for various reasons, are outside mainstream education. Your role extends beyond teaching Maths to providing stability, connection, and fostering a renewed love for learning.
What We Offer:
£25–£30 per hour — valuing your time, skills, and experience.
Flexible working hours to fit your lifestyle and availability.
Work in 1:1 or small groups, allowing for a focused, tailored approach.
Full support from a dedicated consultant and access to ongoing CPD (including safeguarding, SEND, and trauma-informed practice).
The opportunity to make a measurable difference in a young person’s life daily.
What You’ll Need:
QTS and strong subject knowledge in Maths (up to GCSE).
A nurturing, patient approach with the ability to build trust with vulnerable learners.
Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (e.g., SEMH, SEND, or in care).
A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
Two professional references from within the last 10 years.
A UK driving licence is desirable, as some tuition may occur in homes or libraries across Gateshead.
