Early Years Manager - May - Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Hours: 08:00-18:00, Monday - Friday. (Total hours will not exceed 47.5 hours per week)
Salary: £580.24 - £718.65 per week, depending on age, experience, qualifications, and camp size
(Contracts for February Half Term will be issued at 2023 wage levels. 2024 wage levels will be effective from 1st April.)
Reportable to: Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office

EARLY YEARS MANAGER DUTIES
* Support and deliver induction training and oversee set-up days before the camp
* Complete paperwork and manage high-risk activities according to Barracudas Activity Codes of Practice
* Enforce health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment
* Ensure the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage by planning explore and play sessions
* Designated Person (DP) for safeguarding, dealing with child protection and safeguarding issues
* Update and communicate regularly with Area Managers and Central Office
* Conduct observations and participate in high-risk activities with staff while engaging with children
* Regularly check staff understanding of safeguarding procedures
* Act as the main contact for OFSTED inspectors during camp
* Communicate with parents, handle administrative tasks, and manage Early Years staff
* Maintain tidiness of site and baserooms, and ensure equipment is packed away properly
* Assess and review staff performance for end-of-season evaluations
* Support staff during sessions as needed
REQUIREMENTS
* Attend compulsory senior training events (details in contract)
* Early Years qualified (e.g., Primary qualified, CACHE L3, Primary PGCE, BA Primary Education)
* Experience in a childcare setting
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Have or obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or the Update Service
* Provide satisfactory references
* Attend and deliver induction training before camp opens
* Complete annual online training
* Coordinate pack-up at the end of camp
* Aim for at least 50% of senior staff to be Paediatric First Aid trained, depending on camp size
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Follow health and safety procedures diligently
* Proactively address safety issues
* Prepare for induction training using relevant manuals
* Complete staff evaluations at contract end
* Report child protection concerns to Central Office
* Be aware of children with additional needs and assist with reasonable adjustments
* Administer medication correctly and document appropriately
* Bring swimwear daily for swimming sessions
* Perform other tasks as required by the role and organization
