Working Hours
Full time - 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks) (rotating shift pattern; week 1 and 2: 06:00 - 14:30 Monday - Thursday & Friday 06:00 - 14:00, week 3: 13:30 - 22:00 Monday - Thursday & Friday 12:00 - 20:00). You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays 06:00 - 14:00 (with a weekday day off).

About the Role
With a fleet of over 49,000 vehicles, including traditional fuel and electric vehicles, LCVs and HGVs, maintaining our vehicles is a true team effort. Reporting to the Fleet Workshop Manager, the Shift Supervisor provides a pivotal supporting role to the Workshop management team. Responsible for leading operations across a shift in line with production planning and control requirements, you’ll deploy agreed processes and staff resources to ensure the Workshop operates safely and delivers high levels of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver weekly team meetings, shift huddles and support remedial actions to address conduct issues, ensuring technicians’ wellbeing after sick absences.
* Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repair procedures on vehicles, trailers and mechanical equipment as required.
* Use your personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair of light and heavy goods vehicles.
* Access specialist tooling and shared equipment in modern, fully-equipped workshops.
* Carry out effective stock control, ensuring accurate and timely completion of work orders and vehicle documentation to meet business and legal requirements.
About You
* Experienced leader who has managed a team of vehicle technicians with excellent knowledge of H&S and can communicate technical issues to the team.
* Fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent) with your own toolkit for standard repairs.
* Proven vehicle technician experience on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV/HGV.
* Valid UK driving licence; full manual UK licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
* High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
* Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota and are always willing to support your team where necessary.
