I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation, stable client base, and a track record of year-on-year growth. This is a newly created, exciting role working with a high-performance international team. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and industry-leading clinical experts, within a collaborative culture.
This is an individual sales role, primarily remote, focusing on the UK and Western Europe. You will be responsible for acquiring new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device sectors across various therapeutic areas including oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a robust network, and a proven sales record in this region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets
* Developing and executing business strategies for target markets
* Prospecting to build a sales pipeline and secure RFPs from qualified potential clients
* Using Salesforce to track client interactions and opportunities
* Leading the sales process from lead generation to closing
* Managing proposal development to meet client expectations
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence
* Collaborating with marketing to support business development strategies
* Providing input on sales targets and strategies
* Supporting pre-sales activities and resource allocation
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions
* Maximizing opportunities through internal research staff
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business
