East Kootenay Regional Hospital, located at the foot of the Rockies in Cranbrook, BC, is seeking an anatomical or general pathologist to join our pathology team. The hospital serves a catchment of approximately 85,000 people and supports a Level 4 BCCA oncology clinic, on-site MRI, and specialist services in internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, urology, ENT, orthopedics, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and radiology.

Join us at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH), an 80-bed regional referral centre serving approximately 85,000 individuals in the East Kootenay region. Our hospital offers 24/7 emergency and trauma services, a Level 3 lab with PCR and MALDI/TOF machines, new MRI, SPECT CT, and upcoming CT scanners, and ongoing construction for a NICU, renovated ER triage, and oncology and renal departments.


Responsibilities

* Provide anatomical or general pathology services as part of an independent practice within a small group environment.
* Contribute to surgical pathology and non-gynecological cytopathology and frozen sections, with approximately 10,000 inpatient and outpatient surgical cases annually and 10–15 hospital autopsies per year.
* Offer opportunities to perform coroner’s autopsies if interested.
* Collaborate with hospital and laboratory staff to maintain high-quality patient care and efficient workflows.


Qualifications

* Expertise in surgical pathology.
* Ability to work effectively within an independent practice in a small group setting.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with hospital and laboratory staff.


Compensation and Benefits

Compensation Type: Clinical Service Contract. Estimated Remuneration: $423,125 plus MOCAP level 3 and applicable overages.

Benefits and incentives may include: relocation funding, retention premiums and fees, recruitment incentives, and RCME funding. Incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
