1 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Interpreter/ Translation tasks includes:-
* Interpretation: Providing Japanese English verbal interpretation Providing live or remote services to support conferences, meetings, etc. Responsibilities may include:
o Simultaneous interpretation (live/remote)
o Consecutive interpretation (live/remote)
o Attendance and travel support for on-site, domestic & international trips
o Business-based advice to staff working with overseas counterparts
* Arrange 3 rd party Interpreters
o Determine how many interpreters are required for the meeting.
o Contact and book 3 rd party interpreters
o Prepare pre-read docs and conduct briefings among interpreters (if required)
* Translation: Providing Japanese English written translations
Translation of internal communication focused requests including but not limited to emails, documents, and any other business-related correspondence that contributes towards global efforts for the company. Responsibilities may include:
*
o Maintenance and contribution to translation memory and glossaries
o Post-editing translations and finalise

2 RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

* Build and develop close working relationship with managements to be an active key member of the team.
* Build relationships and develop the trust of internal and external customers as a representative.
* Build good working relationships with other team members to ensure cross function support.

* Maintain a high level of service focus, ensuring Corporate Philosophy is adopted and supported at all times.
* Responsible and quick services and arrangements with Ho-Ren-So (Inform – Communicate – Consult) are appreciated.
* Keep abreast of market conditions and specific industry and organisational changes.
3 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
* Must be fluent in both Japanese and English
* At least 2-3 years of experience working as a professional Interpreter or translator, or equivalent education.
* Computer literate with an extent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with digital communication avenues including live chat or Teams.
* Experience of actively participating in a team environment, whilst demonstrating the capability to work independently.
* Good understanding of relevant organisation, products, processes and systems, and Japanese and English/European culture. #LI-JACUK #citylondon
