Job Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Qualified Counsellor with a minimum diploma to work within the Primary Care Mental Health Counselling Service. This 1 × 15 hour post will provide service in Wrexham and Flintshire east area. Clients are referred by the Prescribed Medication Support Service and Local Primary Mental Health Support Services and have mild to moderate mental health problems. Ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver short‑term sessions to clients in tier 1 mental health services.
* Use a range of counselling modalities with an integrative approach.
* Offer face‑to‑face sessions in clinics and a blended approach via telephone/online as required.
* Maintain accurate record keeping, attend supervision and keep CPD up to date.
* Attend managerial and multidisciplinary meetings and support the development of the service.
Person specification
Diploma in Counselling required.
Essential criteria: Meets all essential criteria as per attached job description/specification.
Desirable criteria: Meets all desirable criteria as per attached job description/specification.
Skills in at least one model of counselling/psychological therapy required.
