The role requires me to work with both internal and external people, including those in sensitive roles. Key stakeholders include, GSS, their supporting personnel, the GSS customer base and key civil servants.
Be an expert contact maker and communicator, creating dynamic and smooth operational interactions with all areas. I will also manage and co-ordinate new, renewal and ongoing management of around 1000 cases.
What you'll be doing
I’ll be looking after the government personnel National Security Vetting (NSV) for all BT and its contractors. Occasionally there will be additional work for the HR units that form all areas covered by HMG Vetting. These areas include:
• Maintaining and managing information on the NSV database – BT’s internal database must capture every actioned request for NSV, this will help to track applications and manage vetting details of all people within BT’s remit.
• Involvement with the new joiner and on-boarding process from an NSV perspective, guide new recruits through the end-to-end course
• Review all GSS clearances, including those outside the CFU and their customers to move all relevant clearances and transfer them to the pertinent authorities.
• To be the contact with the customers with regards to the approvals, ongoing management, and refusals process
• Handle GSS travel requests alongside the generic BT Travel Security requirements.
• Manage the leavers process so that the customers are notified correctly of dates and reasons behind leaving.
• To be the main point of contact and customer relations for GSS client vetting groups
• Handle and manage the drug testing requirements for the customer(s)
• Oversee the International Visits process.
The role will also include:
• Regularly working from GSS locations
• A level of National Security Vetting (NSV) will need to be obtained and maintained throughout the duration of holding this position
Skills and Experience
Training is given due to the uniqueness of the role. However, basics in all BT systems is a must as well as attaining and maintaining security clearance is a requirement of your role.
You need to be a confident and clear communicator, both over the phone and in writing/email.
You will have the ability to manage a high volume of work, sometimes under time pressures.
Critical thinking, you need to have a problem-solving approach and open mind in order to reduce the risk to BT but support commercial business aims.
