Job Responsibilities and Requirements
* Knowledge of departmental procedures, safety regulations, and adherence to local, state, and federal guidelines.
* Assist residents with activities of daily living, including dressing, toileting, bathing, grooming, and oral hygiene, following management plans.
* Accurate documentation and charting according to Heritage policies.
* Follow SAMM policies, Universal Precautions, and Infection Control Policies, including PPE use and disposal of infectious waste.
* Understand chemicals and trained in their proper use.
* Report accidents/incidents immediately and use safety equipment appropriately.
* Adhere to working hours, complete assignments, and demonstrate versatility in duties, including driving and covering shifts during weekends, holidays, and emergencies.
* Drive Heritage vehicles for errands and transportation as directed.
* Maintain good inter-departmental relationships and participate in training and educational programs.
* Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Attend all PCA certification courses and clinical training.
* Complete PCA course and certification exam successfully.
* Communicate with the Resident Care Director about patient status and report changes.
* Perform skills competently and document accurately.
* Establish therapeutic relationships and provide emotional support.
* Perform only tasks prescribed by the Resident Care Director.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* High School diploma.
* Certified CNA or HHA.
* Basic computer, telephone, and radio skills.
* Ability to speak understandable English.
* Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
* Current MA Driver's License.
Program Details
* Complete the 54-hour PCA Training Program provided by Heritage, including classroom and hands-on training.
* Pass the PCA certification within four weeks of start date.
* A minimum of 12 months employment required to receive PCA certification.
* Earn while you learn through on-the-job training.
Position Purpose and Schedule
Assist residents with daily activities, understanding their needs. Schedule: 40 hours/week, rotating days, 6:30 am - 3 pm, every other weekend and holidays. Sign-on bonus eligible.
