Job Description The Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) Assistant supports the ESH function by maintaining compliance, managing data, and coordinating safety initiatives. This is a developmental, support-focused role, working under the guidance of the ESH Supervisor/Manager, and is not intended to operate as a senior or standalone consultant position. The role is ideally suited to candidates with a few years of practical ESH experience who are looking to build on their knowledge within a structured, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the day-to-day delivery of ESH activities, helping to ensure that workplaces meet environmental, health, and safety standards through effective coordination, administration, and operational support. Typical responsibilities include maintaining data repositories, scheduling activities, and supporting incident investigations. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day ESH support and guidance to leaders and staff members Support the RMS & EO ESH Manager with ESH requirements and internal business area projects Assist in maintaining the Business ESH Management System in line with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards Review business ESH training requirements and evaluate feedback to support continuous improvement Support managers with workplace hazard identification, assisting in risk assessments and implementation of solutions, and highlighting any compliance gaps Administer ESH records and digital compliance tools, ensuring all documentation is current, accurate, and audit-ready Review and maintain policies, procedures, and risk registers, including equipment use, chemical, and task-based risk assessments Coordinate safety rosters and PPE, including management of first aiders and fire wardens, and oversight of PPE selection, use, and inspection Support Net Zero and incident management activities, including assisting with investigations and tracking progress against organisational commitments Facilitate ESH meetings, including preparing agendas, recording minutes, and tracking follow-up actions Support audit readiness by assisting with internal and external ESH audits, helping to resolve non-conformances, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities Attend First Aid and Fire Warden meetings, supporting competency reviews, maintaining training records, and confirming roster readiness Coordinate with site representatives across multiple locations to share best practice and ensure consistency Travel to multiple sites within the UK will be required The role is not authorised to provide services to Lockheed Martin UK Limited that are directly related to business development, acquisition, or sales efforts for customers or potential customers. Full driving licence required Desired Skills for the Role: Minimum of two years’ experience of general Environment, Safety and Health duties. Be aware of and be able to apply relevant ESH legislation principles and practices in the workplace. Strong communication skills with excellent organisational and administrative skills. Ability to work on own initiative to meet tight deadlines in a demanding environment. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
