Title: Quality Technician
Location: Oxford, MI

Palladyne AI (NASDAQ: PYDN) is an AI software company on a mission to automate physically demanding work that has historically been “too complex to automate.” With more than thirty years of robotics R&D — including during our time under Raytheon — we’ve developed advanced AI and ML software that enables robots to observe, learn, reason, and act with human‑like intelligence.
Daily Responsibilities
* Checking that raw materials or components involved in the production process meet quality requirements
* Inspecting production machinery and inspection equipment to ensure production runs smoothly
* Assisting with and writing production plans that minimize risk during production
* Estimating time involved to assure each products quality
* Working with manufacturing and operations to meet project deadlines
* Assisting in writing and reviewing testing and inspection plans
* Assisting with vendor audits
* Verifying purchase orders to vendors and supplies are in compliance with customer, government & Warnke quality processes and requirements
* Verifying outsource supplier and material certifications
* Investigating causes of defects that occur during the testing phase and writing non‑conformances documenting defects and causes
* Writing corrective actions as necessary to prevent non‑conformance recurrence
* Suggesting improvements to company infrastructure and processes to prevent future mistakes during production
* Communicating with manufacturing about existing defects and how to prevent them in future products
* Communicating with all departments to coordinate scheduling for testing and inspection
* Reporting defects to all relevant departments for correction
* Conforming to regulations and international standards when it comes to testing and quality assurance
Qualifications
* Two years relevant work experience
* Good math and technical skills
* Experience with standard inspection gauges (Calipers, Height stand, Micrometer, Bore gauge, etc)
* Experience with CMM is a plus
* Understanding of GD&T is a plus
* Understanding of quality control standards and testing
* Microsoft Office literate
* Jobboss2 enterprise resource planning system experience is a plus
