Healthcare Assistant – Theatres (Bank) – Circle Health Group

Overview
The role is a bank position working on an “as and when required” basis. You will supplement staffing levels during busy periods and cover for existing staff during annual leave or absence.
Duties Of This Role
* Assist in delivering safe and effective care across the theatre department, supporting patients throughout their surgical pathway.
* Prepare theatres for procedures, including equipment checks, stock preparation, and ensuring the environment is clean and ready.
* Support with the safe movement and positioning of patients pre‑ and post‑operatively under the direction of registered practitioners.
* Engage with patients in a respectful, dignified, and empathetic manner, helping to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort.
* Communicate appropriately with members of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to smooth handovers and coordinated care.
* Act as an advocate for patients, raising safeguarding or care concerns with courage and in line with organisational procedures.
Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria
* Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
* Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
* Ability to follow instructions and escalates concerns appropriately.
* Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
* Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
