We are working with an embedded & rugged computing provider who are looking for a business development manager to support their growth across sectors such as industrial automation, medical, defence & aerospace.
Role Overview
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing and securing new business opportunities in the UK and internationally. You will act as a bridge between technical expertise and commercial strategy — working closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver tailored solutions to complex customer challenges.
You will:
* Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve growth targets
* Identify and qualify leads, conduct market mapping and account planning
* Engage with prospects at senior levels — technical, operations, procurement
* Collaborate with internal teams to align solutions, pricing, and delivery
* Represent us at industry events, conferences, trade shows
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging sectors
What We're Looking For
* Proven track record technical or industrial sales / business development, ideally in embedded computing, electronics, automation, or a closely related industry
* Strong understanding of technical products and ability to converse credibly with engineering teams
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
* Self-motivated, target-driven, with a consultative sales approach
* Ability to manage complex sales cycles (multi-stakeholder, long lead times)
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
* Degree or equivalent background in engineering, electronics, or business
