The Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in our organisation by overseeing the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers. Responsibilities
* Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles.
* Develop and implement volunteer programmes that align with the organisation's goals.
* Manage volunteer schedules and coordinate activities to optimise engagement.
* Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities.
* Oversee fundraising initiatives and assist in marketing efforts to promote volunteer programmes.
* Utilise social media platforms to enhance visibility of volunteer activities and attract new volunteers.
* Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation and provide regular reports on programme effectiveness.
* Facilitate workshops or training sessions for volunteers, focusing on public health topics when relevant.
Experience
* Proven supervising experience in a similar role or environment.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Demonstrated leadership capabilities, fostering a positive team environment.
* Experience in marketing and fundraising initiatives is highly desirable.
* Proficient in social media management, with an understanding of how to leverage these platforms for outreach.
* Administrative experience that includes maintaining records and managing communications effectively.
* A background in public health or teaching is advantageous but not essential.
