We are currently recruiting for Site Supervisors to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire.
About The Role
As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading operational teams within a defined catchment, ensuring seamless end‑to‑end management of all works while delivering an exceptional customer journey. Your responsibilities include carrying out site inspections, coordinating the crews from your depot, managing fleet issues, and evaluating employee performance.
* Work with the Senior Management Team, Client and Local Authority to agree extent of works and maintain relationships throughout.
* Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
* Experience and ability to encourage and enable personal development.
* Work closely with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
* Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Lanes Group and its customers.
* Leads and controls Civils Operatives and Gangers engaged in all activities concerning the civil works aspects of the contract. Optimize resources by scheduling work appropriately.
* Responsible for managing the team’s fleet/plant and material requirements to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works.
* Ability to produce method statements and procedures. Competent in reading and understanding specifications, drawings and other discipline related to work and engineering documentation. Keeps records of all work completed. Ensure our client systems are updating in real time.
* Commands respect of workforce and develops excellent working relationships with all other department personnel as well as client management.
* Must be a confident communicator to liaise both with internal and external clients.
* Able to give instructions efficiently and effectively to the workforce and responsible for the daily management of the teams.
* Ability to read and interpret drawings, understanding shoring designs.
* Ensures work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials. Prevents wastage and misuse of equipment, materials and tools. Supervises work crews to best utilise manpower and materials, exercises discipline at work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.
* Familiar with all HS&E and Quality procedures, regulations and strictly enforces them with the workforce under their responsibility.
* Responsible for the day to day well being of the teams under your control, identify, formulate and implement training programs for the workforce.
* Complies with the highest level of safety during all stages of work to avoid any type of incidents and or accidents.
About You
* Possess previous experience of supervision within the Waste Water Industry.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
* Previous managerial experience is essential.
* Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks.
* Exceptional customer service skills.
* Have excellent time management skills, delivering tasks to deadline.
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving targets.
* A proactive approach to problem‑solving with a focus on achieving results.
* Proven experience in a previous Supervisor Role within the Utilities Sector – preferably in the Drainage Industry.
Working Hours & Location
* Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 47.5 hours per week.
* £38,000 - £42,000 Salary.
* Location: Malton, Aldwarke, Bradford and surrounding regional areas.
* Company Car / Car allowance.
* 25 days holiday + Bank holidays.
