I'm currently working with a well-established and respected player in the global fresh produce industry to recruit an experienced Inventory Manager. My client is looking for a driven, detail-oriented leader who can take ownership of inventory operations across multiple departments and locations, ensuring best-in-class accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth, accurate, and cost-effective management of inventory. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including supply chain, production, and ripening to ensure everything runs like clockwork. Key areas of responsibility include:
* Driving full compliance with inventory control procedures and ensuring accuracy across systems
* Leading stock audits and floor walks to identify and resolve discrepancies
* Monitoring shelf life and stock ageing, minimising waste and financial risk
* Overseeing the management of customer returns, GR2, and dump inventory
* Supporting and training teams to follow correct processes and promote a culture of accountability
* Collaborating across departments to lead monthly reconciliations and implement improvements
* Maintaining and updating inventory-related SOPs and contributing to wider innovation projects
* Taking a proactive role in safety leadership and promoting a culture of health and safety
What they are looking for
To be successful in this role, you'll need to bring both strategic oversight and hands-on leadership. This is a high-impact position, so confidence, collaboration, and initiative are key. The ideal candidate will have:
* At least 5 years' experience in the produce industry (or similar environment)
* Proven leadership skills with a track record of driving improvements
* Strong communication skills and fluency in English
* Excel skills and general proficiency in Microsoft Office
* A self-motivated, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work independently
* Analytically capability to spot trends and solve problems
* Excellent organisation, time management, and negotiation abilities
