Mechanical Design Engineer

£13.00 – £14.36 per hour (DOE)
Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent – Early Friday Finish
Own Transport: Due to the location of the site, candidates must have access to their own transport.
Are you a driven and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer looking to join a respected and long-established engineering company in Lincoln?
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client – an innovative manufacturer with a strong reputation in the industrial sector – for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of both new and existing products.
Whether you're early in your design engineering journey or bringing years of experience, this role offers real hands-on involvement in the full design lifecycle – from concept through to production. You’ll be involved in a variety of projects, including the design of industrial valves and other bespoke mechanical components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and support the design of new and existing products and projects.

Create effective design solutions to meet customer and manufacturing requirements

Prepare full production design packs including detailed drawings, BOMs, and specifications.

Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines are met

- Conduct job costing and quotations
.
- Source suitable materials and liaise with suppliers and customers.
- Ensure all designs align with technical and quality standards
.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or relevant practical experience.
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or Onshape)
- AutoCAD experience is a bonus but not essential.
