A vibrant and thriving Primary School in Leyland is seeking a dedicated General Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 2 team immediately. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety of a primary classroom and is committed to helping pupils reach their full potential during their final years of primary education.
The Role
As a General TA in KS2, you will be a vital support system for the class teacher, helping to manage the classroom environment and ensuring that every child remains engaged and on track.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support: Assisting the teacher with the set-up of lessons and supporting the general management of the classroom.
Small Group Interventions: Leading focused groups in Literacy and Numeracy to help bridge learning gaps or challenge higher-ability pupils.
SATs Preparation: Providing extra support to Year 6 pupils as they prepare for their end-of-key-stage assessments.
Social & Emotional Support: Acting as a positive role model, helping pupils develop resilience and confidence in their academic and social lives.
Inclusion: Working with the teacher to ensure that all pupils, including those with EAL or mild SEN, can access the curriculum effectively.
About You
We are looking for a reliable and energetic professional who can become a valued member of the school community.
Experience: Previous experience working within a school setting in KS2 is essential
Skills: Strong levels of English and Maths (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent) to confidently support the KS2 curriculum.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with both children and staff.
Initiative: Someone who can spot where help is needed before being asked and who brings a positive "can-do" attitude to every day.

Hold a L2 or above teaching assistant or equivalent qualification.
This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
