The Role
This role offers an opportunity to gain experience within the Development and Informatics Test Team, supporting the design and testing of applications across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, including system and interface workflows.

* The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00

Key Responsibilities
* This position is exposed to confidential patient information as part of the day‑to‑day job and must comply with the Data Protection Act and Caldicott principles when handling this highly sensitive and confidential information.
* Use modern methods to test and defect track, providing good coverage from unit to system level and verifying fixes.
* Demonstrate a solid understanding of automated processes and tools, excellent analytical and test design skills, and a sound appreciation of the product development process.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
* The post requires close collaboration with project teams, support teams, and service users to understand business needs, develop test cases, and contribute to the test approach. Experience with Agile methods—particularly Azure DevOps and JIRA—would be advantageous.
* Candidates should have relevant testing experience, either through formal qualifications or practical workplace exposure. Applicants with knowledge of NHSGGC systems who can demonstrate a methodical approach and strong service awareness will also be considered.
* Consideration will be given to candidates with experience of using or supporting software in use in NHSGGC and who can demonstrate a methodical approach and good service knowledge.

Policy update from 1 April 2026
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part‑time working hours will be reduced on a pro‑rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
