Part-Time SENCo (1–2 Days Per Week)

We are working in partnership with an Alternative Provision in Leicester (LE3) to recruit a qualified and experienced SENCo on a part-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in developing and leading SEND provision for learners who require personalised and nurturing support. You’ll be joining a small, dedicated team working with students in Years 9 to 11, with class sizes no larger than five. Flexibility is offered in terms of which days the 7.5 hours are worked.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the coordination of SEND across the setting
* Oversee and contribute to EHCPs, Annual Reviews, and external agency liaison
* Support the teaching team in delivering inclusive practice
* Monitor and track student progress and wellbeing
* Contribute to the school’s long-term aim of achieving a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* The National Award for SEN Coordination (or equivalent) is highly desirable
* Prior experience working with young people with SEND, ideally in an alternative or specialist setting
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* A proactive, flexible, and solution-focused approach
This role could potentially be combined with a part-time teaching position in English or Maths for the right candidate seeking additional hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
