Commercial Property Partner (Lawyer)
The Opportunity
A highly respected and independent firm with strong ties to local businesses and a national reach is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Property Lawyer to join its thriving Commercial Property team as a Partner.
This role has arisen due to the planned retirement of a long-standing senior lawyer, creating a unique opportunity to step into an established practice with a robust pipeline of work. Whilst there is enough work for an additional Partner already, a client following would be of benefit.
About the Team
* The department recently won a 2025 award for "Commercial Property Team of the Year" and is led by two excellent, and credible Partners
* Handles an extremely diverse range of real estate matters, from high-value transactions to smaller bespoke deals
* Strong reputation built on experience, pragmatic pricing, and client relationships
* Work sourced nationally and through both internal / external referrals
* The firm offers support both from a management perspective, but in the team is able to provide assistance from a trainee and secretary
* Collaborative, approachable team culture with excellent internal relationships
Role Requirements
* Position: Senior Commercial Property Lawyer (ideally Partner level)
* Experience: appropriate PQE and skill to be able to competently step into a Partner level role
* Specialisms: General commercial property; additional specific real estate expertise welcome
* Following: Not essential, but desirable
Nature of Work – What You’ll Handle
This is a highly varied caseload, including but not limited to:
* Major transactions: e.g multi-million-pound commercial leases for national operators and acquisitions/disposals for large businesses across the UK
* Development and investment work: commercial site acquisitions and disposals, negotiating complex development agreements
* Landlord & tenant work: lease renewals, variations, and assignments as well as advising on break clauses and rent reviews.
Client Base
A mix of national and local clients, including developers, investors, landlords, and owner-managed businesses. The team wins work through experience, pricing, and reputation, with strong referral streams from the commercial team.
