The Ideal Candidate:
Curriculum Design and Delivery:
Develop and deliver an inspiring, innovative mathematics curriculum that meets national standards and promotes critical thinking.
Plan and implement lessons that are differentiated to cater to the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
Classroom Leadership and Instruction:
Deliver dynamic, interactive Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, fostering a love for the subject and encouraging independent thinking.
Use a variety of teaching strategies, engaging resources, and modern technology to create enriching learning experiences.
Cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom culture where students feel motivated to contribute and challenge their understanding.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
Regularly assess and monitor student progress through both formative and summative assessments.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to empower students to reflect on their learning and make improvements.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student progress and achievements.
Personalised Learning and Differentiation:
Tailor teaching to meet the needs of students at all levels, providing support and challenge where appropriate.
Develop and implement targeted interventions to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed.
Communication and Collaboration:
Build strong communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of progress and key milestones.
Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas, strategies, and best practices within the department.
Participate actively in parent‑teacher meetings and wider school events.
Professional Development:
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Maths education.
Engage in ongoing CPD to continually develop your teaching practice and advance your career.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s desirable).
Teaching certification/licence for secondary education with a Maths specialism.
Proven experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and effective teaching strategies.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
A passion for motivating students and fostering a high-achieving learning environment.
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
