About the services
Cygnet Bury Dunes provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women including specialist deaf services and emergency admission services. Upper West is Cygnet Bury Dunes’s 10 bed medium secure service. Upper West supports females with a range of complex care needs including personality disorder, mental illness and detachment disorders, as well as both hearing and Deaf individuals.
Your day-to-day
* Carry out psychological assessments & provide therapy to individuals & groups
* Work systemically with staff, as well as directly with service users
* Consult with staff, families & other agencies about the psychological care of the client group
* Offer psychological insight & knowledge to the multidisciplinary team
* Support the clinical, nursing & direct care teams in making skilled evaluations & decisions about risk
* Evaluate the service, contribute to its development & carry out clinical research
We Are Looking For Someone Who Is…
* An experienced Psychologist, ideally with an adult mental health client group
* We would welcome applications from application due to qualify within 12 months.
* Experienced in working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Knowledgeable of mental health legislation, risk assessment & risk management principles
* Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema focused, Cognitive Analytical & DBT
* Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs
* Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, physical & verbal aggression, history of sexual offending & drug & alcohol problems
* An excellent communicator.
