Cover Supervisor Secondary School – Bournemouth Location: Bournemouth, Dorset Contract: Term time only | Full‑time / Part‑time (considered) Start date: As soon as possible Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) The Role We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our friendly and supportive secondary school in Bournemouth. This role is ideal for someone considering a future career in teaching or education and who enjoys working with young people. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short‑term absence of teaching staff, ensuring pupils remain on task and follow the work set by the class teacher. Key Responsibilities Supervise whole classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 during teacher absence Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies Ensure a productive and positive learning environment Support students with their learning where appropriate Report back on lesson outcomes and any concerns About You We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, youth work, or similar) Is confident managing classroom behaviour Has strong communication and organisational skills Is reliable, adaptable, and calm under pressure Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential) Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor is desirable but not essential. Training and support will be provided.
