Overview
Travel Insurance plays a key role within Admiral Insurance’s diversification strategy with Pricing and Data playing a key role in its success. With the ever-increasing volume, velocity, and variety of information available, Data plays a key role in navigating the complexity to facilitate delivery of insightful reporting with varying focus, identifying areas of improvement in the product offering, internal processes and ensuring the product is priced rationally, accurately, and fairly - ensuring the business remains competitive.
A Data Analyst will support accurate and timely availability of data and reporting for the claims area of Travel Insurance. You will have the opportunity to work closely and have an impact on other areas of travel insurance including pricing, operations, marketing, and underwriting, and assist them with ensuring the availability of data and performance reporting on key metrics. You will also liaise with MIS and Data Tribe teams and our external IT providers like Socrates or Firemelon to help set up the best data and reporting environment for Travel Insurance.

Key responsibilities
* Deliver high-impact reports and insights using Google Cloud Platform and Looker to drive smarter decisions across the claims area within Travel Insurance product.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, translating business needs into actionable data solutions.
* Continuously improve reporting processes and data visualisations, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
* Review dashboards and SQL for performance and scalability, ensuring our data tools are robust and future-ready.
* Operate effectively in an agile environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting quickly to evolving business needs.
* Familiarise and become expert in third party data sources used within the team
* Promotion of best practices within the team and outwardly to the rest of the business.
* Carry out robust root cause analysis using insights from data interrogation to drive business decisions and answer business questions.
* Design and implement technical data quality and process solutions.

Skills and Qualifications
* Experience in data analysis and reporting
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Looker, SQL, and BigQuery
* A strong interest in programming and data technologies
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels
* An agile mindset, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
* High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
* Proactive, flexible, and willing to contribute beyond core responsibilities
* Analytical thinker who enjoys challenging and improving existing processes
Location
We work in a hybrid approach, with one day a week spent at our Cardiff office. We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home.
Training & Development
Training for the role will be provided by the senior members of the Data and Pricing Team. In addition, you will be part of a small team and will have plenty of opportunity to interact, develop and learn from others. The team has generally adopted a hybrid working pattern split between at least 2 days in the office and working from home. We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home.
Thanks to the culture and structure of our business, the skills and experience developed within our Data and Pricing team would be transferable to other analytical departments.
