What You’ll Be Doing
As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality financial services to a diverse client base. Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
* Supporting quarterly VAT returns and tax computations (personal and corporate)
* Assisting with payroll processing (experience desirable but not essential)
* Acting as a trusted point of contact for client queries
* Mentoring junior colleagues and supporting their development
* Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and HMRC regulations
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates who are either AAT / ACCA part-qualified or qualified by experience. What matters most is your technical accuracy, client-focused mindset, and proactive attitude.
You’ll ideally bring:
* Experience with IRIS or similar accounting software
* Confidence working with incomplete records and trial balances
* Proficiency in QuickBooks, SAGE, or Xero
* Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* A collaborative and self-motivated approach
* A genuine desire to grow within a supportive practice
