Right at Home High Wycombe is one of only 3 Home Care providers in Buckinghamshire to be rated by the CQC as 'Outstanding'. We are part of a network of 83 Right at Home branches that focuses on quality rather than quantity, with staff retention and support being pivotal to this. Hence the purpose of this role.
The Role
As Care Team Supervisor and Trainer, you will work closely with our Registered Manager, overseeing a team of Caregivers, ensuring they are trained, supported and developed to be able to deliver the highest possible level of care to our private clients that live in and around Wycombe, Chiltern and South Bucks.
Your days will be a blend of office-based responsibilities, being out in the community with your team and running face-to-face training with new and existing caregivers.
Core Responsibilities
The role will be varied, so you will need to be organised, efficient and willing to help out with whatever is required in a highly reactive working environment, as we aim to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients and their families. Duties include:
* Field based spot-checks
* 1-1 supervisions & appraisals
* Maintain the compliance of Caregiver files and training records
* Deliver elements of the Caregiver Induction training.
* Mentor and develop new Caregivers.
* Shadow new Caregivers and sign them off as competent.
* Ensuring Caregivers understand and adhere to policies & procedures.
* Some on-call phone responsibility
About You
You will be calm and patient with attention to detail and a desire to ensure proven processes are followed. You will be adaptable and open-minded enough to successfully blend your current care and supervisory experience with Right at Home's policies and methods of working which support the delivery of high quality care.
You will take pride in developing those around you and will be confident enough to ask for guidance when you do not understand something, or to take responsibility if you make a mistake. Overall, you will want to be seen as a role model to your care team and indispensable to the Registered Care Manager and Director.
Desirable Skills, Experience & Qualifications
You will need t o be able to offer most of the following:
* 18 months experience delivering hands-on care.
* Hold a Level 2 QCF/NVQ in Health & Social Care.
* Previous supervisory experience.
* Experience of delivering care-based training - practical & theory.
* Competent with IT, particularly Excel Spreadsheets, Outlook and CRMs
* Strong verbal, written & face to face communication skills.
* Train the Trainer qualification.
* Efficient & detailed administrator with attention to detail.
* UK driving licence with access to a car (this is essential).
