Overview
Join a dynamic, growing SME engineering/manufacturing business based in Hull as a Business Development Manager. This is a 100% new business sales role, ideal for a self-starter with a proven track record in selling into construction or manufacturing sectors.
Role Details
Location: Hull HQ, UK (On the road / Hybrid)
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000, with £70,000 OTE, company car, and benefits
Start Date: June - July 2025
Responsibilities:
1. Develop new markets, aiming to open at least one new market per annum
2. Target and acquire new customers within the construction and manufacturing sectors
3. Build and maintain relationships with key clients
4. Contribute to the company's growth from £8 million to £12 million turnover in the next three years
Candidate Profile
* Minimum 5 years of experience selling into UK construction and/or manufacturing sectors
* Strong contacts and understanding of sector decision-makers
* Proactive, self-motivated, and a natural hunter of new business
* Upbeat, driven, with a strong work ethic
* Relevant qualifications are a bonus but not essential
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to discuss target customers confidently
* Transparent, down-to-earth, and entrepreneurial mindset
* Ability to report effectively to the Sales Director
