Occupational Therapy Senior Therapy Support Worker

Responsibilities
* Assess and treat patients in a range of daily activities to encourage functional independence in preparation for discharge.
* Work under the guidance of an established and supportive team of qualified Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and other therapy support staff.
* Provide independent care delivery, including liaison with patients, family members, carers, the multi‑disciplinary team and external agencies following a "home first" model.
* Support the development of skills to work independently and deliver care effectively.
* Commit to 7‑day services and be flexible to work weekends on a rota system.
* Utilise IT skills with electronic patient records to manage patient information.
Qualifications & Training
* 3 A Levels or Health and Science T‑Level or equivalent Level 3 qualification(s) and functional skills (Level 2).
* OR a Level 3 apprenticeship such as the Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship or another Level 3 qualification pathway.
* OR the ability to start these qualifications within the first 6 months of employment.
* NVQ/QCF or equivalent Level 2 qualification in a health‑related subject.
Experience
* Experience in a therapy service within the NHS.
* Experience of working with people and teamwork.
* Experience of working in a caring role.
* Evidence of working flexibly and undertaking a variety of tasks.
* Experience of Occupational Therapy.
Skills & Knowledge
* Awareness of the effects of disability/illness and their impact on individuals.
* Time and management skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Awareness of confidentiality issues.
* Ability to work as a member of a team.
* Demonstrates personal initiative.
* Responsibility in prior posts.
* IT skills.
* Demonstrates a specific interest in the post applied for.
* Demonstrates the ability to work independently with patients with a range of medical conditions.
* Interest in the care of older people.
