Are you an experienced Insurance Surveyor in the Glasgow area looking to grow your career in a new role? The Role: The Insurance Surveyor is responsible for inspecting damaged properties following insured events and assessing the extent of damage, repair requirements, and associated costs. They role plays a crucial part in the successful resolution of insurance claims by producing accurate reports, managing scopes of work, and liaising with all relevant parties to ensure efficient and compliant repairs. Key Responsibilities: Carry out site inspections of domestic and commercial properties following insurance claims (e.g. fire, flood, storm, impact damage). Assess the cause, extent, and scope of damage and determine appropriate repair solutions. Prepare detailed schedules of work, repair specifications, and cost estimates. Liaise with policyholders, loss adjusters, insurers, and contractors to progress claims efficiently. Monitor repair works where required and ensure quality, safety, and compliance with relevant regulations. Identify any additional risks or underlying issues that may affect repairs or future insurability. Produce clear, accurate, and professional written reports within agreed service level targets. Ensure all works comply with health & safety standards, building regulations, and insurer guidelines. Provide technical advice to insurers and customers throughout the claims process. What We Are Looking For: Strong knowledge of building construction, repair methods, and materials. Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability. Confident communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters in simple terms. Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple claims. IT-literate with experience using mobile inspection tools and reporting systems. Professional, customer-focused approach. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team. Qualifications & Experience: Essential: Experience in property repair surveying, insurance claims surveying, or a related construction discipline. Sound understanding of domestic and commercial building repairs. Full UK driving license. Desirable: Relevant surveying, construction, or insurance qualifications.
