This innovative service is part of a broadercity-wide strategy focused on improving outcomes for children and young people aged 0–12 years. By offeringtimely, tailored support, the service is designed to help families overcome challenges and create stable,nurturing environments where children can thrive.The core mission of this service is to promote the wellbeing of children and young people by enabling them to remainsafely at home with their families. Whether living with parents, siblings, or, when in the child’s bestinterest, with extended family members, the goal is to ensure children grow up surrounded by familiar faces,within their own communities, attending local schools and maintaining friendships that are vital to theirdevelopment.As a Family Support Practitioner, you’ll be an integral part of a dedicated and compassionate team. Your role willinvolve working closely with families, building trusting relationships, and advocating for the needs of childrenand young people. You’ll help identify strengths, navigate challenges, and connect families with the resourcesthey need to succeed. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of childrenwhile contributing to a forward-thinking approach to family support in Glasgow.**How you'll help to create brighter futures**Some key responsibilities of a Family Support Practitioner role are;* Effective assessments will be undertaken to identify the needs, strengths and challenges that each family faces, the intensive interventions will involve advice, guidance, parenting support, 1:1 work with children and liaising with partner agencies.* You'll carry out assessments, intensive planned support and reviews and support families to overcome barriers. Working as part of a fantastic and passionate team, you'll attend meetings and work alongside partner agencies, advocating on behalf of children and families.* You'll be part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively with families to support and enable positive change and to improve outcomes.**Let's talk about you*** SVQ 3 in social care or equivalent.* Post qualification experience of working with children, young people and families and achieving positive outcomes through direct contribution with support activities and intervention.* Experience of working with vulnerable families and a broad understanding of their barriers.* Knowledge and experience of implementing methods of assessment and interventions.* Able to work flexibly (evenings and weekends)* Must be competent in report writing and using computer software packages such as Microsoft excel, Microsoft word, teams, and outlook.* Driving licence and access to a car.
