Job Summary
The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and friendly team of NHS consultants in delivering high-quality cardiology services at Salford Royal Hospital within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. This role involves working with colleagues to develop and expand services across Salford.
Main Duties
Provide general cardiology, cardiac imaging and heart failure services, bolster service provision and support the 10-bed Heart Care Unit and adjacent 9-bed Health Care Unit.
Responsibilities include:
* Clinical management of heart failure patients.
* Cardiac imaging and interpretation.
* Pericardial procedures and pacing.
* Participation in audit and quality improvement.
* Teaching postgraduate and undergraduate staff.
* Collaborate with community and other hospital services.

Professional Registration
* Full GMC registration.
* Cardiology CCT (or proposed CCT within 6 months) or CESR.
Essential Qualifications
* Cardiology CCT (or CESR).
* Primary medical degree (MBChB or equivalent).
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Broad experience in cardiology with focus on heart failure.
* ALS certified.
* Audit participation evidence.
* General cardiology inpatient and outpatient care.
* Team working across medical and allied disciplines.
* Heart failure sub‑specialisation.
* Echocardiography, pericardiocentesis, temporary pacing.
Desirable
* Postgraduate degree (MSc, MD, PhD).
* Accredited clinical and educational supervision experience.
* Research and publication experience.
* Leadership experience.
* Pacing expertise.
