Job Title: Domestic Cleaner / Laundry Assistant

Hours: 12:00pm – 6:00pm
Schedule: Includes every other weekend - Working to a Two Week Rolling Rota.
Job Description:
Edward House Care Home is seeking a reliable, dedicated, and compassionate Domestic Cleaner / Laundry Assistant to join our friendly team. This role is vital in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
You will work under the supervision of the Head Housekeeper and be expected to follow instructions from the management team as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to work well as part of a team and also independently, using their own initiative when required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform daily cleaning duties throughout the care home, including residents' rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and kitchens.
* Manage laundry services efficiently, including washing, drying, ironing, and returning clothes to residents in a timely manner.
* Ensure correct and safe use of cleaning products in accordance with COSHH regulations.
* Follow infection control procedures and maintain high hygiene standards at all times.
* Report any maintenance or hygiene concerns promptly to the senior team.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the overall care and comfort of our residents.
* Provide a warm and respectful service to all residents, understanding their individual needs and preferences.
* Support other domestic and care teams when required, especially during busy periods or staff absences.
* Follow instructions and guidance provided by the Head Housekeeper and management team.
* Carry out duties both as part of a team and independently, showing good judgement and using your own initiative.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working in a care home or similar healthcare environment is essential.
* Solid knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and safe handling of cleaning materials.
* Understanding of infection prevention and control in a care setting.
* Ability to work under supervision and take direction from management when needed.
* Capable of working well as part of a team or independently.
* A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to "pull together" when needed.
* Must be able to work every other weekend as part of the shift pattern.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £17,094.00-£25,490.81 per year
Expected hours: No less than 28 per week
