Position: Marketing and Social Media Volunteer
Organisation: Thrive 2Gether Youth & Community Centre
Location: Mainly remote with occasional visits to our Watford centres
Hours: Flexible – approximately 4–8 hours per week (fully flexible to suit your availability)
Reporting to: Centre Manager (Nilesh)
Role Overview
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and values-driven Marketing and Social Media Volunteer to help raise awareness of Thrive 2Gether, grow our community reach, and attract more young people and families to our programmes.
You will play a key role in developing our brand presence across social media and digital channels, creating engaging content, and supporting our mission to empower young people and strengthen local communities. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills for meaningful social impact while building your marketing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and schedule engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms
* Help grow our followers and increase engagement with our target audiences (young people, parents, schools, and local partners)
* Produce eye-catching posts, stories, reels, and graphics that reflect our brand values
* Support the promotion of events, open evenings, programmes (e.g., bike rides, Personal Finance sessions), and expansion updates
* Assist in developing a consistent brand voice and visual identity
* Help expand our digital channels and explore new ways to reach more peoplei>
* Track basic analytics and report on what content performs best
* Work closely with the team to ensure all content is inclusive, positive, safe, and aligned with our values
Person Specification
* Passionate about Thrive 2Gether’s mission and values (Safety, Inclusivity, Positivity, Youth Empowerment, Community)
* Strong understanding and experience using social media platforms (especially Instagram and Facebook)
* Good writing and communication skills – able to create clear, engaging content
* Creative with a good eye for visuals and design
* Organised and able to manage your own time effectively
* Commitment to producing positive, appropriate, and values-driven content
* Reliability and good attention to detail
* Experience with social media management tools (Meta Business Suite, Canva, CapCut, etc.)
* Basic graphic design or video editing skills
* Understanding of marketing principles and audience growth strategies
* Photography or videography skills
* Previous experience in marketing, content creation, or branding
* Knowledge of the Watford, Hertsmere, or North London area
