Your new company
A charitable organisation operating leisure services across the borough. The organisation plays a key role in improving health, wellbeing and cultural access for residents. Following recent changes within the finance team and a period of operational instability at a transactional level, they now need an experienced interim to bring structure, control, and consistency back into the function.
Your new role
As Interim Finance Manager / Year-End Accountant, you will report to the Finance Lead and work closely with the FP&A function to stabilise the day‑to‑day finance operations. This is a hands‑on, process‑driven role suited to a seasoned contractor who can step in quickly and add immediate value.
You will oversee transactional finance, manage daily cashflow activity, ensure journals are accurate, and drive the month‑end and year‑end timetable. You will also provide leadership to a small team and act as a steady hand during a period of transition. There is flexibility around hybrid working.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or strong QBE
2. A proven track record as a seasoned interim contractor
3. Strong transactional oversight and self-improvements capability
4. Experience of stabilising teams and tightening controls
5. Comfortable working at pace and resolving operational challenges
6. Experience taking lead on year end audit
7. Immediate or short‑notice availability
