HOW CAN YOU HELP US?
In a nutshell: Are you interested in leading and managing the Food Microbiology & Chemistry Business Unit in Linlithgow? Can you coordinate the management and development of New Business Development for Food Microbiology/Chemistry/Cross-Selling by exploring geographical reach, customer type and customer size working alongside the Commercial team? Do you have experience with P&L management, operational and people management, technical and quality performance? Then this role might be the one for you!
What team will I be part of? You will be part of the Food cluster, specifically Food Microbiology & Chemistry in Linlithgow, Scotland, reporting to the Cluster Director for this unit.

As a Business Unit Manager, You Will:
* Strategy: Under the guidance of the Cluster Director, identify the unique value proposition of the BU and develop the Commercial plan to meet new business requirements, working with the commercial team.
* People: Lead and develop the Linlithgow Food Microbiology & Chemistry BU, acting as a role model, hiring, managing, motivating, and retaining top talent to build a high-performing team with succession plans.
* Compliance & HSE: Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and accreditation standards, incorporating sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact.
* Operations: Improve operational efficiency through streamlined processes, Lean methodologies, and IT solutions.
* Sales & Customer Satisfaction: Enhance customer satisfaction and build strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring high-quality service.
* Financial Management: Support budget and financial planning, manage P&L, and address deviations with corrective actions.

Qualifications
* Problem-solver with a proactive, entrepreneurial, and strategic mindset.
* Leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a people management role in food, aquaculture, animal health, or TIC industry.
* Experience with P&L management, operations, and commercial responsibilities.
* Degree in science (Microbiology/Chemistry/Business) or equivalent diploma.
* Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
* Technical skills in MS Office and Lean methodologies.
