Maintenance Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading manufacturing organisation, based in Hereford on a full time permanent basis providing essential engineering support to ensure plant equipment runs efficiently and safely. You’ll play a key role in reducing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment.

What You Will Be Doing
* Diagnosing faults on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, responding quickly to breakdowns.
* Executing planned preventative maintenance tasks according to the plant schedule.
* Undertaking engineering planned maintenance activities within the department.
* Maintaining accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance activities in the CMMS to justify improvement projects.
* Conducting effective face-to-face shift handovers to ensure smooth operational continuity.
* Ensuring safe working conditions at all times in line with risk assessments and workplace organisation policies.
* Adopting working practices that continuously improve efficiency and standards in your area.
* Assisting in the development of methods to reduce plant downtime and improve efficiencies using modern techniques.
* Carrying out health and safety (6S) improvements as directed by the Engineering Team Leader.
* Servicing, maintaining, and calibrating engineering plant areas.
* Assisting with training and development of apprentices.
* Providing flexibility across departments to share knowledge and resources when required.
What We Are Looking For
* Recognised apprenticeship or HNC in maintenance or manufacturing engineering (or similar qualification).
* Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Self-motivated with strong organisational and time-management skills.
* High level of self-discipline and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to motivate and support team members, including apprentices.
